Architects, Mitsubishi Electric Hall Duesseldorf, 10.01.2019

The concert by Architects last Thursday evening started for me Concert year 2019. And what did I look forward to: After initial teething problems with the latest architects’ longplayer “Holy Hell”, the record now rotates up and down. Not even the rather mediocre and rather soulless Mitsubishi Electric Hall could dampen my mood. But first it was time to start with the Vorbands.

First of all, this was Polaris, a metalcore band from Sydney, who had traveled the long way across the … Continue reading

FJØRT, Musikbunker Aachen, 03.02.2019

Fjort, Musikbunker Aachen, 03.02.2019

It has not been long since FJØRT was once the secret tip in the German Post -Hardcore counted. In the meantime, however, you hardly get past the Aachen Trio if you are seriously interested in this genre. Of course, a city could not be missing in the Rooster of the current Südwärts tour – and of course that was the hometown of the musicians. Tour conclusion was therefore on the plan and it was no less than a last, wonderful show in front of a sold-out house in Aachen music bunker can be … Continue reading

Don Broco, The Canteen Cologne, 27.01.2019

Don Broco Cologne

It’s been a year since “Technology” appeared. For alternative rock band Don Broco, this is a good reason to go on tour again to celebrate the songs of this fantastic album with their fans. The band was also not idle and released on Friday their new song “Half Man Half God”. I could not completely convince the recording, but maybe a live performance does the rest. We will see. I am currently completely immersed in the university project stress and already had a guilty conscience to attend … Continue reading

While She Sleeps, Cologne Vinegar Factory, 23.02.2019

While She Sleeps

“You Are We”, the latest album by While She Sleeps, quickly became one Scene classic and was certainly not only at my top in the top list of the year 2017. Accordingly disappointed were the fans as the five boys so that not as a headliner came to us in the vicinity. Two years later, the follow-up “So What” is about to be released and While She Sleeps finally appear again as the main act. The band has already released three songs that suggest that the album is thematically related to its … Continue reading

Our Hollow Our Home, MTC Cologne, 09.03.2019

Our Hollow Our Home Cologne

When the up and coming metalcore band Our Hollow, Our Home on their first extensive headliner tour in Germany goes, I could not miss that of course. The five boys from Southampton appeared yesterday in the sold-out MTC club in front of a text-safe audience. Why this is exactly what the band does well on their show follows in the review.

When the lights went out, the intro of Our Hollow, Our Home was recorded and four tattooed, black-clad musicians took the stage As announced, a … Continue reading

Vennart, Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld Cologne, 12.11.2018

Vennart, Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld Koeln, 12.11.2018

Mike Vennart stands under the large arched ceiling of Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld while a few meters above him trains and freight cars pass at breakneck speed. Of that you get in the stuffy room below the train tracks with nothing. However, one thing that is hard to miss is the gray-haired gentleman, who stands on the stage with his three colleagues at the end of the half-sold-out space and conjures up spellbound songs from the sleeve of his cheetah shirt sleeve in an impressive manner none … Continue reading

Listener, Club Subway Koeln, 13.11.2018

There are artists who are damned good because of their genre history and rather untypical music but will probably never find their way out of the clubs. If you visit a lot of club concerts, you will occasionally come across such bands – of course, many acts drive it relatively fast from the small shops into the halls and some are also technically just not good or too much reminiscent of the pabulum that certain genres offer, that they understandably will die in the dirty bars and cellar … Continue reading
